STS-103 - Update #5 - More Traveling! But also progress
Jeez, I don’t know what the universe has against STS-103, but this episode has (clearly) been a challenge to get out the door. I already mentioned the first round of travel, and subsequent first round of COVID earlier. But unfortunately there’s been a death in my extended family and I had to travel right back up to Boston again this past weekend. I’ve also had some other demands on my free time, including beta testing for the always challenging and always interesting Advent of Code which started a few days ago.
The good news is that I actually tend to get more work done in the weird liminal space hanging around in an airport. During the flight up to Boston I finished the primary reading and note taking for STS-103, and as I write this I’m sitting in a nice isolated corner of Boston Logan’s Terminal B, banging out the crew bio section. I’ve also put together the general flow of the episode in my head, if not yet on paper.
Folks have been very supportive of my new uh, “loosened” schedule, but as always, please know that it is my full intent to get things back on the rails in the near future. It probably won’t happen in the midst of the holidays, but the new years is always a great excuse to attack work with a new vigor, so I’ll see what I can do.
If anyone is actually reading these updates and has any questions about the process, feel free to send them my way. Otherwise, I’ll just keep on keeping on.
